Michael D. Hoekstra, CPA, CFE

Michael is a manager in the Family Office Services group. He works with multi-generational high net worth families on their tax compliance and consulting needs. Michael is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Illinois as well as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society, and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Prior to joining Kovitz in 2024, he worked in public accounting at both a regional and mid-sized firm.

Michael received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management from Augustana College. While enrolled at Augustana, he played for the men’s basketball program and was part of two NCAA Division III national runner-up teams.

Outside of work, he loves enjoying the restaurants and sporting events of Chicago with his wife.
